Indian tennis too got its share when Somdev & Sania Mirza entered the 2nd round of prestigious US Open.Somdev, thus became the fourth indian to do so.It was Prakash Amritraj who did it for India last time, way back in 2000.But this lad Somdev shows much more promise.

Indian contingent in Formula 1,Vijay Mallya’s Force India earned its 1st ever championship points when Gian Carlo Fisichella came up 2nd in the Belgian grand prix.It was a dream run for the Italian veteran driver who also won the first ever pole position for Force India.

In short,Indian sports is showing promise and is trying its best to come out of the shadow of Cricket that has virtually displaced Hockey as India’s national sport. All this eventually shows the coming of age of bold Indians who are willing to pursue unconventional careers & take up different disciplines of sports as a profession. Also, the encouragement they get from Government and leading Entrepreneurs is a good sign for Indian sport.Yesterday,Salman Khan-famous Bollywood actor-agreed to be the brand ambassador (free of charge) of Indian football after watching the tremendous performance of Indian team.
